The five limbs of the Hindu day — tithi, nakshatra, yoga, karana and vara — with sunrise, moonrise, Rahu Kaal and the choghadiya, worked out for your city. Every figure is calculated from the positions of the Sun and Moon; nothing here is copied from a printed almanac.
Times are Indian Standard Time. Panchang elements are read at sunrise, as is the convention.
The tithi is the angle between the Moon and the Sun in steps of twelve degrees; the nakshatra is the Moon's place among the twenty-seven lunar mansions; the yoga is the sum of their longitudes in the same steps; a karana is half a tithi. The "ends at" time is the moment the Moon crosses the next boundary. Sidereal positions use the Lahiri ayanamsa. Rahu Kaal, Yamaganda and Gulika are fixed segments of the daylight divided into eight; which segment they take depends on the weekday.
Moonrise and moonset may differ from other almanacs by a few minutes: almanacs disagree on which edge of the Moon counts and how much the atmosphere bends its light. Everything else here agrees with the standard tables to the minute.
